If you move your mouse over the green jigsaw puzzle that represents the template in visual mode (it's displayed directly at the beginning of a template in source mode), then you'll see then name of the template. Copy and paste that name in the search bar, and go to search "Everything" instead of "Pages". You'll find the template page and can edit from there.
Just a warning, though, if you don't know exactly what you're doing, you can potentially mess up the entire template into a pile of gibberish. There's a sandbox mode where you can test and tweak your own practice templates, but I'm not sure exactly how to do that. Maybe True Aranel would have a better idea; you should ask him.
One thing I've found to be helpful is to look at a list of existing templates and figure it out from there. You could also probably find a lot of guides of how to make templates on wikia central or google.
Out of curiosity, what are you thinking of making?
haha, well basically everyone who once edited there. You might want to talk to...Yuri Kaslov, who had no love for Byzantine, or Fidei Defensor, who was neutral but I felt always harbored dislike for the guy.
If you feel sincerely that Byzantine is causing problems for total war wiki (which he/she is), I'd advise for you to take it up to wikia central. If anyone can do anything about that situation, it'd be them.
The last time I let someone do that, they arrogantly told me that they could do it all easily before writing a couple of half-assed articles and then disappearing without a trace.
So let's make a compromise: if you (and anyone else you can convince) can promise that you will initiate and finish all information not related to etw games, go ahead. If you can't make that guarantee, then no dice. I may assist you, but only in grammar and formatting, as I have not played the other total war games heavily.
That's still not good enough, for now. If you can get other people aboard the team that can fill up the holes you have, then I say go for it. But otherwise we're going to have a wiki called "Empire: Total War Wiki" that inexplicably has some stuff from two total war games but not on any of the others.
If we are going to expand in any direction, I propose this:
How's about we make absolutely sure that all the articles pertaining directly to Empire: Total War are completed first. Then, I'd say that we either start from Shogun I and work our way from there, or Napoleon since that's the most similar thematically to Empire.
I was going through the technologies list, and the only ones I found were Carcass Shot and Abolition of Slavery that didn't have the effects listed on the page or in the source. Most of the ones from 'S' onward haven't had any information put in yet, though, so I'll take a look at those tomorrow and let you know if there are more.
I started (hopefully) polishing up the Technology pages. I've been filling in the tables with information, changing "Empire: Total War's" into "Empire - Total War's", and removing "General Information" sections in cases where they simply held the same information as the tables. I did the last two in separate edits so they can be reverted easily if necessary. I also intend to go back through afterwards to add links and such.
I didn't get through all of them yet, and it's like 3 am, and even I can only go so long without sleep, so, assuming I haven't been unintentionally screwing it all up, I'll finish in the morning (afternoon).
